Strategy
LiPlasome Pharma is concentrating its current R&D activities on the pipeline projects in primarily cancer therapeutics:
- Development of the targeted drug delivery platform for conventional chemotherapeutics like doxorubicin and cisplatin. The purpose is to introduce a reformulated product with a significantly improved therapeutic index compared to what is already available of both plain formulations and liposome formulated drugs.
- Development of the targeted prodrug delivery platform for a new class of anticancer drugs called anticancer lysolipids. These promising anticancer lipids have been known for a long time, but have never been applied systemically in the clinic due to severe side effects like hemolysis of red blood cells.
After having successfully concluded early clinical trials, LiPlasome Pharma will seek licensing agreements and cooperation with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in order to facilitate further clinical testing, drug approval and commercialisation of new effective anticancer products. In return, LiPlasome Pharma will receive licensing fees, royalities, and milestone payments.
